Job description
Menten AI is looking for a machine learning scientist/engineer with expertise in state-of-the-art deep learning and/or reinforcement learning techniques to join our computational efforts and help us create the next generation of protein-based therapeutics. The scientist will become a strategic member of a multidisciplinary and innovative research group and develop, lead, and execute the short and long-term machine learning strategy and roadmap. The successful candidate will manage a team of 1-3 research scientists and work closely with the development team to develop new computational methods for protein design. Core responsibilities
Work with the executive team to develop, lead, and execute the short and long-term machine learning strategy and roadmap
Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms for protein design
Work with the CEO to create, communicate, and implement the organization's machine learning vision, mission, and overall direction
Supervise 1-3 junior computer scientists in development of protein-design applications
Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of machine learning and computational approaches in drug discovery
Requirements
PhD or MSc. and 5+ years of experience in computer science, physics, mathematics, computational neuroscience, computational chemistry or other relevant areas
5+ years of relevant experience in machine learning methods either from academia or industry with a significant focus on deep learning or reinforcement learning
Experience with one or more machine learning software packages (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc)
Proficiency in scripting languages e.g. C++, Python, R, etc.
Experience with cloud or high-performance computing (e.g. AWS, GCP)
Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated by publication of scientific articles and presentations within machine learning or computer science
Demonstrated supervisory skills including managing teams and leading research projects
Preferred Experience and Skills
Experience with data science tools such as Git, Docker
Experience or interest in graph convolutional networks
Expertise or interest in bioinformatics, computational biology, computational chemistry
